About a man who turned into fish
Written and illustrated by me, this graphic story tells the tale of a man who felt like an outsider and was deeply lonely. The initial concept for this narrative came from an idea for a short comic strip that I ultimately didn't create. Initially, the story had a different, more somber ending: the lonely man jumps into the sea and turns into a fish, waiting in vain for someone to look for him, only to fall asleep on the seabed, alone. However, the journey of this story ultimately culminates in a good ending, which brings me great joy.
My deepest wish was for the protagonist to find happiness, and I am so pleased that we discovered his authentic and singular way to achieve it. Although I started with a specific narrative in mind, the journey of the protagonist took unexpected turns, guided by the process itself. The story explores the desire to feel alive and the quest to find one's path. It's a journey from loneliness, alienation, and a lack of belonging towards discovering personal purpose and the immense power of the will to live.
