About the eternal wondering and about the Earth
Curators: Olga Yerushalmy & Ksenia Nazarov
One of the authors that deeply influenced my childhood was Ray Bradbury – a Sci-Fi writer whose unique and philosophical perspective on life shaped my worldview, particularly through his anthology "Forever and the Earth" (which I also know under the Russian title "About Eternal Wondering and the Earth"). Much like a collection of short stories, this exhibition stands as a complete artistic creation where each artwork, born from a specific moment and captured in my pocket-sized sketchbooks, holds an independent story with a unique voice. Yet, in their unity, these drawings weave a stronger, multi-layered narrative, reflecting my soul as an artist and the personal diary of feelings and experiences poured onto paper in black and white, without preliminary sketches.
Through their transformation from intimate sketchbook pages to the gallery walls, the narrative gains a new strength, inviting viewers to connect with my exploration of existential questions like melancholy, loneliness, and the yearning for connection. My art exists on the border between minimalism and a need to fill space, resulting in works that can be amusing, sad, or unsettling, yet ultimately hope to engage the viewer in a shared journey of wonder and questioning.
